I have Windows 10. For the 2nd time this year, after automatic update 12/14/22 1:30 AM, I have blue screen with "Automatic Repair" and can't restart even after restarting from Safe Mode. My screen doesn't match written instructions. I've been working on this since 8:30 AM. I'm using my laptop to post so I can't provide a screen shot of my PC. I really can't afford another $125/hr to come fix it. Please help.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, I know some of these steps are already done, you have just skipped them if you think it will have the same result.

First, we need to go to Windows recovery mode and try the options there:

Restart the device 3-5 times until I reach Windows recovery mode, wherein you have an option to select Continue, Troubleshoot, or Exit.

Or try to Press and hold the Shift key while continuously pressing F8 while starting the PC

    Then on Windows Recovery:

    Do system Restore:

Click Troubleshoot> Advanced options> System restore - Follow the prompt and choose the date when it was working fine.

If failed we may need to do a reset keep your files, however, this process will delete all apps, if you want to proceed follow the steps below:

On Windows Recovery> Click Troubleshoot> Reset this PC> Keep my files- Follow the prompt to reset.

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

    Bernard

I sent you an email reply that bounced back. To save time, I'll just go forward from here. I can't seem to access recovery mode. I keep trying til I hear back from you.

I did fix this laptop, resolve the printer issues for this computer, and ensure both were functional.

Yesterday my main business PC, containing all of my business account information and all of my licensed system apps was automatically updated. The update resulted in a blue screen, I have been through EVERY option and none of them will bring the system back, It is telling me that my system is unrepairable !!

I am given one of two options, totally erase all of my user files and applications OR keep my user files and erase all of my apps. Is there any possible way to get everything back ?

My system just finished finalizing the retore. I was never able to access Windows recovery mode no matter how many times I tried restarting the system. I decided to dive in on the blue screen repair section. I selected " Troubleshoot> Advanced options> System restore" and followed the prompts. It seemed like it took hours but it didn't. My system rebooted correctly, accepted my login, and the page opened to all my beautiful files and favorites. I will sleep well tonight!

Thank you for the encouragement to continue to reach a solution. I'm just about on cloud 9. I'll wish my former technician a fond farewell. If I can fix a printer issue he couldn't, I think I'm doing alright.

God bless you and Merry Christmas!

    Kathleen

Oh no! Now it's telling me I need to restart to install updates. Here we go! At least now I know how to fix an issue if it arises.
