Cannot connect to outlook.com

Using Outlook 2021 and tries to add an outlook.com account.
I have tried different imap/smtp hostnames (even MS describes multiple names), e.g.:
imap-mail.outlook.com / smtp-mail.outlook.com
outlook.office365.com / smtp.office365.com (https://support.microsoft.com/nb-no/office/pop-imap-og-smtp-innstillinger-8361e398-8af4-4e97-b147-6c6c4ac95353)
outlook.office365.com / smtp-mail.outlook.com (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/pop-imap-and-smtp-settings-for-outlook-com-d088b986-291d-42b8-9564-9c414e2aa040)

IMAP port 993 SSL/TLS, SMTP port 587 STARTTLS, but credentials are never accepted.
I am 100% sure that credentials are entered correctly (using same for outlook.live.com works perfect)

What may possibly be wrong?

    Outlook.com (hotmail) is not currently supported here on Q&A. The product group for Outlook.com actively monitors questions in dedicated forums here.
