MSI app Uninstall unknown error (0x87D103E8)

Hi All,

We have a scenario where we need to uninstall msi file from a windows device using Intune. We have created application as Line of Business app by uploading msi package file. Installation is successful.

In Intune we are getting error as below : Unknown error (0x87D103E8) and says uninstall failed.

As per https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell/issues/11986 , it's a kind of bug.

We have re-synced device multiple times and checked in Control Panel, app is still installed.

Any advise would be helpful.

For this issue, someone else has reported this issue recently. However, there is not any update about it. With Q&A limitation, the most effective method is to open an online support ticket. Was there any resolution to this - I have exactly the same circumstance, with an MSI Line-of-business app failing uninstall.

In fact - we've just checked, and even though it has reported an uninstall failure - it did actually perform the uninstall, and the new Windows app (not Line-of-business) upgrade has successfully installed

I am experiencing this same error (Status: Uninstall Failed) (Unknown error (0x87D103E8)) when attempting to Uninstall the program "Dynamics 365 Remote Assist" (Version 314.2310.20002.0) (Windows Universal line-of-business app) from the HoloLens 2 using InTune.

I have downloaded the App Package file (.appxbundle) from the Microsoft Store for Business, then uploaded to InTune as LOB App, then set as "Required Uninstall".

Most of the HoloLens 2 reports, (UPN: No User) (Status: Not Installed), but a couple of them are failing to uninstall Remote Assist and have the Unknown error (0x87D103E8).

I have already attempted Syncing the device from InTune, manually syncing from settings, and also syncing from Company Portal. Remote Assist remains installed unfortunately.

If needed, please contact me as I can help provide device diagnostics for this device with the error (0x87D103E8) for further troubleshooting.

For some reason, this is the only topic (among 2 on google) that appears for the error "0x87D103E8" so I hope that I am in the right place to add more details! :)
