Hello, The current version SQL Server 2019 is now available as a docker image and can be freely used for development and testing purposes, using the "Developer Edition" (which is fully functional SQL Server). Will the new SQL Server 2022 be available as a docker image and will there be this free "Developer Edition" option, too? Thank you for your response. With regards, Jakub J.

Yes, SQL server 2022 can be available as a docker image and it also has free "Developer Edition" option.

SQL server 2022 general version is not released. We can not get exact date. But through the last part of this MS blog, we can register to apply for the SQL Server 2022 preview and stay informed about SQL Server 2022 updates.
