2021-11 Cumulative update (KB5007186) for Windows 10 21H1 fails with error 0x80070005 error
I am trying to update my system (Windows 10 21H1) via WSUS and only the cumulative update fails with the error code 0x80070005. Remaining updates were successfully installed. The same error happened for October cumulative update also. I tried the below troubleshooting steps.
Tried installing manually
Performed sfc scan and DISM restore
Renamed software distribution folder
Deleted files under software distribution
Tried installing with administrator account

2021-11-23T09:45:24.4+00:00 Hi there,
Various reasons could be responsible for the error code 0x80070005 when installing Windows 10 updates, the main one being damaged system files. This can be a result of malware infection or file corruption.
It seems you have tried the SFC and DISM commands. Additionally try these additional troubleshooting steps.
My first suggestion would be to Install updates manually.
You can get the updates manually from here https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspxCheck your antivirus. Disable it temporarily to make the update run.
Delete the content of the Temp folder.
Refresh your PC.Reset Windows Updates components.
