I have a Excel Workbook that crashes during load of Data Model which I believe has to do with a Pivot Table. The crash will exit immediately all Excel workbooks that are loaded if any.

Here are my errors show in Event Viewer. This workbook worked fine for years up until this latest update that was installed today

The process 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE' exited with exit code -1056964586. The creation time for the exiting process was 0x01d7e09b1a333ad9.

    Hi @Robert Nolte

Could you please check the version number of your Excel?
Please go to Excel > File > Account > Product Information, share the version name and version number with us.
It's recommended to perform an Online Repair for Office from Control Panel.

I also suggest you run Excel in Safe Mode to have a check, that hold down the Ctrl key while starting Excel. When Excel asks you if you want to start in safe mode, please say Yes and release Ctrl key.
Safe mode could help us troubeshoot the add-ins and startup iterms.

Besides, it's recommended to try following steps to have a check.

    • Create your query. In "Load To", select "Only Create Connection", do not check "Add this data to the Data Model".
    • Insert a new pivot table on a blank tab of your worksheet. Select "Use an external data source" and select the connection only query you created in step above. Check "Add this data to the Data Model".
This will create a second query which places the results of your connection only query in the Data Model.
    • After the new query has been loaded, you can optionally delete the tab containing the pivot table.

If there is any update, you could let me know.
