Hi! I've been having this problem for a week now. I can't connect to our own WiFi. Two weeks ago it started as having trouble in connecting but now I really can't connect anymore. This is what shows when I enter the password. I already tried some of the steps here in fixing the WiFi problem.![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/998a65a4-2936-4ec0-8316-482adca865ea?platform=QnA

    Hi Gab,

Thank you for providing the info. I see your system had two updates close to that time. I would first try Franco's suggestion about checking the WiFi security protocol. If you don't know how to get into your Router to check, I've have included an alternative option below.

    1. Open the start menu --> type: cmd --> right click the option that says "command prompt" --> select "run as administrator".
    2. In the command prompt window type: "netsh wlan export profile folder=c:\ key=clear".
    3. Open your file explorer and select (C:) drive as per photo below --> select the file that has your WiFi name --> right click on the file --> select "open with" --> select "notepad"

    1. Inside the file, find the security section as indicated in the photo below. This may be "WEP", "WPA", or "WPA2". (Don't share the file with us), just let us know the authentication protocol.

    1. If the protocol isn't "WPA2", then you should further your efforts to get into logging your router to change the setting to see if that works.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Dave

Hello, Dave! Thank you very much for responding.

I tried removing the wifi profile and tried to connect it again but it states that "The network security isn't correct. Please try again." I can connect to this wifi using my phone.

    Regards,

    Gab

    Hi Dave,

I'm using a Lenovo ideapad330s and it's running using Windows10. I tried updating the adapter driver (as well as uninstalling and and restarting the device) but it doesn't fix the issue. The WiFi password is still the same for many years now and I can connect to it using my mobile device, as well as the mobile devices of my family. There were no network hardware changes recently and there were no technician who visited to fix any network issues for quite some time now.

    Thank you very much.

    Best,

    Gab

    Hi Gab,

    Thanks for following up.

    This can happen, if:

    a) The security passkey has been entered incorrectly repeatedly.

    b) The network adapter drivers are not updated.

    c) The security passkey has been changed recently.

I’ve included some questions below that will give me a better idea of what might be happening:

    • What is the make, and model number of your laptop?
    • What version of Windows are you running?
    • Have you had any changes in your WiFi settings recently on the router/WiFi access point?
    • Can you try and connect another device, and tell me if that works?
    • Have you changed any network hardware recently?
    • Have you changed your internet package, or had a technician work on your network?

Once answered, these should point us in the right direction.

Please kindly vote or mark this post if it helps you solve the issue.

    Kind regards,

    Dave

    Hi John Gabrielle Ramos,

My name is Dave, and I’m a volunteer, and a Microsoft Customer like you. I’d be glad to assist with your issue.

I would try to remove the wifi profile, then try connecting again to see if that helps. I've included a link below.

    https://www.howtogeek.com/246104/how-to-delete-a-saved-wi-fi-network-on-windows-10/

Are you able to connect to your wifi from another device without issue?

Please kindly vote or mark this post if it helps you solve the issue.

    Kind regards,

    Dave
