OneDrive stuck on looking for changes

Hi - I'm using Mac OS Big Sur 11.6.

I have recently added some extra items to OneDrive but although it is trying to sync, it seems to be stuck on "Looking for Changes" I have tried various solutions found online, e.g. pausing and restarting. Signed out and in again. Unlinked and linked again but no joy. When I unlinked and linked again, it started to sync and then stopped and got stuck again. I'm at a loss - can anyone help?

Thanks

Dear NeilsMum,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

Firstly, may I confirm what kind of files are you trying to sync? There are some restrictions and limitations with the OneDrive sync.

For reference: Restrictions and limitations in OneDrive and SharePoint (microsoft.com)

Please try if you could sync the files with the OneDrive web version. If you could sync the files with the web version, then please try if you could sync other files to the OneDrive client. If other files have the same issue, please reset the OneDrive client: Reset OneDrive (microsoft.com)

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

Sincerely,

Sean Cai | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Hi NeilsMum,

Agreed with Sean, just try it.

Or maybe you could try other following proven solutions to fix OneDrive stuck on processing changes.

    • Find the 000A0000-A000-A000-0A0A-00000A0A000A OneDrive file and delete it.
    • Change the location of the OneDrive folder.
    • Confirm that OneDrive is connected to Windows.
    • Check if you have enough space both on your computer and OneDrive.
    • Change OneDrive Root Folder Permissions.

    Best Regards,

    James
