I have an excel file (.xlsx) with 2 sheets summary and detail. The summary sheet has 2 slicers, 1 pivot table , 1 chart and a timeline filter control.

The summary sheet is updated based on detail sheet data.

I am updating detail sheet data using SSIS. After SSIS package runs successfully if I open the excel then I am not able to see the timeline control. Getting below error while opening the excel.

The objective is to use automate the update in detail sheet data rows.

    Hi @Poornima

Do you mean your data for Timeline filte is sourced from 2 Excel worksheers?

    • From the perspective of Excel, it is recommended to check the date format. As I do not have the environment with SSIS, I could not do the tests for your, if there is any settings related to date dimension, I suggest you check whether you have set it correctly.
We need to avoid removing the timeline because Excel cannot recognize the date field.
    • Please also ensure there are no blanks in your column of dates.

The excel is working fine if we manually delete the rows in detail sheet. The issue occurs when writing the details sheet in ssis.

The SSIS Excel Destination is very limited and supports only some Excel features and such issues can happen, see Import data from Excel or export data to Excel with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
