Hello,

We just upgraded one of our RDS session hosts from Windows Server 2012R2 to the latest build of Windows Server 2019 using inplace upgrade:

And we are now facing strange issue - approximately once per 30-50 minutes server fully stops responding to all users' actions (in all sessions!) for 3-7 seconds after it starts working normally again wothout any issues until next freeze. VM is running on the Storage Spaces Direct 4-nodes cluster, on the other node with almost identical settings (CPU number, RAM amount, VM generation) we have another RDS Session host VM with comparable number of users but with Windows Server 2012R2 OS which has NO such issues at all. VM

VM reboot does not help.

Best regards,
Nikolay

    Hello @Nikolay Evdokimov

According to my research some people have experienced similar issue and resolved by turning off UPD on client PC, maybe you can try this way.

    1) Run Group Policy Editor.

    2) Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administration Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Connection Client.

    3) Set the "Turn Off UDP On Client" setting to Enabled.

    4) GP update and no need to reboot.

If the problem persists, I recommend that you open a ticket with the Microsoft support team via the link below:
