How can I disable the annoying new predictive text feature in the Edge Bar. I have tried everything and losing the will to live.

Since the recent update I get predictive text when entering a topic in the Edge Search Bar. It is most annoying and Microsoft I do know what I'm looking for and do not need anyone to tell me or worse suggest what it is I'm looking for. So please how do I disable it?

Thanks but it is turned off and still wants to predict what I type. All happened when Edge updated last week.

You can find Edge search bars in several different places in Windows 10: on the taskbar unless you've hidden it, after pressing Winkey + F, on the Edge New Tab Page and in the Edge Bar, for example.

The search bar on Edge's New Tab Page will use Bing as its search provider unless you change the settings at edge://settings/search. You have already seen how to do that. However, search providers - including Bing - have their own settings as well. By default, Bing will make 'helpful' suggestions as you type in the search bar.

To prevent this, visit bing.com. Click on the hamburger icon ≡ in the top right-hand corner of the page (you may have to maximize the window to see it), click ⚙ Settings and then More. On the Settings page that opens, you'll see the heading Search suggestions with a check box 🗹 next to See search suggestions as you type. Make sure the box is empty ☐, then click Save at the bottom of the page.

This setting is saved in a cookie, so it will revert to the default 🗹 if you clear the cookies for [*.]bing.com.

Try navigate to edge://settings/search and you should see option like the following:

And you may turn it off.

Open Microsoft Edge and press Ctrl+Shift+N and see if the problem persist?
