how do you stop damn microsoft teams from changing from available to away - is there a simple setting to allow self selection to set this rather than a programmed stuffup

I have microsoft teams in a business environment operating on a PC with twin screens for productivity and teams is tied into an online phone system.

Hence I need to to say i am available all day whilst at work and on my mobile so I can receive customer calls and work.

But the Damn Teams software keeps changing me to away when I am here trying to be productive.

I now have a message for others who message me saying "Ring me as teams status is always wrong"

Is there a fix for this where I can simply change the "status" to available no matter what other work I am doing in word or excel etc or which screen I am using or if I am walking around with my mobile phone but still available.

Does another online system exist that actually works and doesnt mark me as away or busy ?

Hello , I tried that to no avail.

I need a setting by microsoft programmers to allow the removal of this supposed feature and make it a simple operator option setting of "on/off" so the operator can

    • either independently set it by the Click your profile at the top right and change status to available or busy.
    • or leave as automatic and put up with the problems

    sincerely

    Jeff

I have been testing my mobile phone teams to my windows PC teams. The windows one goes into away mode so I cannot change the status on the PC screen but when I use the app on the mobile it shows green available and 30 seconds later the PC changes to green.

On PC doesnt matter which of the twin screens I am on or which of the many microsoft and alternative programs I am using or what I am doing it goes to away status. I was roughly watching the Teams on the PC and it went to away status after 5 minutes even though I am working on both screens and the mobile phone screen was locked. I opened the mobile phone and when I touched the existing open teams app and my personal icon it showed me as active or available then approx 20 to 30 seconds later the PC showed me as available or active.

This Teams system need a user personal independantly selectable available or active.

On a separate note Microsoft office 365 needs the calendar to have an easier setting for events being busy or free as it also messes with many other programs including teams. The ability for the user to change the default to free etc would also be user freendly as compared to an extra pain in the butt change required for every event entry.
