OWA does not expose the root folder, so you cannot stamp it there. A default tag will apply to it though, which is one method to achieve this. If you do need to work with different tags on a per-folder basis, and you are not able to use folder-specific tags to achieve that, the best solution is an EWS-based script. Here's a good starting point: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/archive/blogs/akashb/stamping-retention-policy-tag-using-ews-managed-api-1-1-from-powershellexchange-2010
Pure PowerShell does not allow this.
Set Retention Policy on Root Folder in OWA or with Powershell
I'm wondering, I can set different Retention Policies on different Folders.
In Outlook, I can also set a Retention Policy on the root Mailbox Folder.
Is there a way to do that in OWA?
Or is it possible to set this policy with Powershell or read the policies for each folder of a mailbox?
I was only able to read the global policy which has the user assigned.
Sorry to bother you.
