I have additional question. I already have people that registered for the event, but not through Teams. I dont want them to go through the registation process again. Is it still advisable to use Webinar?

Hi I see this post is from 2021. Is there any update on turning an existing teams meeting into a webinar. I have a series of meeting I want to change, and if I need to manually do it will take weeks. Thanks

Do you mean you want to change a Teams meeting to a Teams webinars with the same invite link?

Currently, we cannot convert a Teams meeting to webinar.

We recommend you cancel the original Teams meeting and create a new Teams webinars. For more details about how to schedule it, please refer to this article.

For further investigation, I found you could edit the meeting to let it require registration. I think this way could let your original meeting to become the webinar.

Step1: Open the calendar in Teams client and find your meeting.

Step2: Click Edit here

Step3: Select require registration from none to everyone.

Step4:Then you could Customize the registration form here.

Step5:Click Send Update to change the meeting.
