    Hi lew9789,

    ·         Which method did you follow to create the recovery disc?

    i.           Boot the system by inserting Windows 7 installation disc.

ii.         When it gets to the main setup window, click on Repair from the lower left corner.

iii.       Select Command Prompt from the main Repair menu.

iv.        At the command prompt type in recdisc, then ENTER.

    v.          You'll get the popup to choose which drive letter to create the Recovery disc to.

vi.        Have a clean DVD in the DVD drive and select start.

This should get your System repair disc created.

    Hi lew9789,

Since this issue seems to be related to corrupt system files, you may try running the System File Checker to check if that resolves the issue. The following KB article gives information on how to use SFC:

    Hello Lew9789,

I am getting this same Error=0x80070057, when I try to create a System repair disk on my new HP dv6-2157us, W7, 64bit, laptop.

I did this same procedure, just like the W7 help guide said to do on my 2 month old, HP e9280t, W7, 64 bit, desktop, and it worked fine the first time??

    I'm using the procedure:

    1. Start
    2. Type 'Backup'
    3. On left side of panel, I choose 'create a repair disc'.
    4. I click on 'create disk' and the laptop fails (0x80070057), where the desktop worked fine?

I am current on Win Updates.

    Any help is appreciated,

    Jerrylite

I have the same problem, I created an image from the system and worked perfectly, however when i tried to create the repair disc the following message appears " The parameter is incorrect (0x80070057). I thought the problem is with the writer, I burned couple of CDs/DVDs and went fine. Is there any other way to create the repair disc.

    Thanks
