"Looks like this isn't a Microsoft account Try another email" Joining Windows 11 to Azure AD Via O365 Account

A new sales VP ordered a Windows 11 laptop for their work computer. When we got the computer in, and I started the initial setup, I was asked if I wanted to set the computer up for personal use or Work and School. I selected Work and School. When entering their email into the email field as requested, and then clicking on the next button at the bottom. I am met with the following error "Looks like this isn't a Microsoft account. Try another email." I know this account is correct and is working properly because it can be used to join a Windows 10 device to Azure AD, it can also be used to sign into outlook on mobile and OWA. And the account can also be used to sign into portal.office.com. Below are the troubleshooting steps that were taken:

  1. Make a local account and add his account that way. Still got the same result.
  2. Elevated his 365 privileges to see if it was a permissions issue
  3. Confirmed they had proper BP Licensing
  4. Confirmed their account allowed him to enroll devices
  5. Confirmed that the OS Image version was Windows 11 pro
  6. Re-imaged the machine after wiping the drive, and trying the setup again
  7. Tried another account on the same machine to see if it would error (the test account that was made for testing gave no errors)
  8. Connected the computer via ethernet instead of wireless
  9. Confirmed Endpoint Manager MDM and MAM was toggled to none
  10. Confirmed there were no other devices registered on their Azure AD account that would prevent them from enrolling this device

If anyone knows what could be causing this problem and can shed some light on how to fix this, it would very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

@MichaelM Since you have done few troubleshooting, we would need to check the account status and license at backend.

Normally, if you give a Microsoft account (live.com, hotmail.com, outlook.com) as local admin when it prompts first time, and then add the work account by going to Settings - Accounts - Access work or school accounts - Then try adding the work email here and use Join to Azure AD option.

Let me know if above works, if not, lets sync offline at azcommunity[at]microsoft[dot]com mention subject as "Atten -Vipul" we can then have a look at the account and other status.

    1-Azure re-enroll cmd commands, dsregcmd /debug /leave” and then "dsregcmd /debug /join” 2- gpudpate /force 3- sync access work account.
