Problems updating Window 11 24H2

Question

Every day I open Windows Update to update to version 24H2, but every time I click check for updates I only get security updates.

When I switch to my other computers, even though they are older, they get version 24H2 and my current computer does not.

My problem computer is Dell Latitude 5531.

Please help me!

I have the same issue with the installation update. I spent over four hours with Dell Tech Support with not being able to install the update on my Dell XPS 13 inch laptop 9310 model, was told that issue is with Microsoft's installation process. I have been trying to update to 24H2 for a couple of months. I spent many hours on the Microsoft support website and still not able to update the laptop.

Need Help.

Using the Windows Installation Assistant to upgrade to Windows 11 version 24H2 is a supported method provided directly by Microsoft. You should encounter no issues when using this tool for the upgrade. However,

On the website, when it mentions "using media to install Windows 11," it usually refers to using an ISO file. Since we are not using that method currently, it shouldn't pose any problems.

Another issue to consider is with Auto HDR displaying incorrect colors. If you are utilizing the Auto HDR feature, it is advisable to wait a few weeks until a fix has been released before proceeding with the update to version 24H2.

Thank you for your feedback. The 24H2 version information recommends updating only through Windows Update, not via the Installation Assistant or other methods.

If I proceed with the Installation Assistant, will that cause any issues?
