Limiting access to a distribution list

We are a medium sized company with many of our employees working remotely.  To ensure that all of our employees receive critical information we have created a distribution list that has everyone included.  We are now receiving many emails to this distribution list that are malicious in nature and it keeps perpetuating.

Is there a way to only allow a couple people to approve emails sent to this distribution list?

Or, could we password protect this list before Outlook would be sent any correspondence to all of our employees?

Thank you for your time,

~Rhody L. Morrow

    Hi RhodyMorrow,

I'm Karen, a Microsoft user like you. I'm sorry to hear that. Let me try to help. Just to set your expectations, this is a public forum and we do not work for Microsoft nor have access to any user accounts. We can only offer advice based on our knowledge and resources available from Microsoft.

You can control who can send to a distribution group, you can edit it to control who can send messages to it. By default, only people inside your organization can send to distribution groups in your organization’s address book.

To determine who can send to your group:

    1. Select Settings Settings icon > Options > Groups > Distribution groups I own.
    2. Select the distribution group that you want to change the settings for.
    3. Select Edit
    4. Select Delivery management.
    5. Choose the delivery management settings.
    6. Select Save to save your changes, or Cancel to leave without saving.
