Data Factory alert rule says its "triggered", but action group does nothing?

Hi,

We've currently dealing with an issue where an alert set up with conditions for Data factory failed activity runs and cancelled activity runs, but it isn't invoking actions despite it being "Triggered" according to the "Configure signal logic" graph. We have other alerts under the same resource group, that use the same action group, but a different resource, and they invoke the action group as we'd expect. But for whatever reason, the Data factory alert does nothing. We also have no Alert processing rules that can interfere.

I've searched to see if others have had the same issue and have had no luck. Are we missing something obvious? Maybe there is an issue with Data factory alerts currently?

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

My understanding is that you were able to see the alert notification is being triggered (receiving email or text) when the condition is met, but no action in that action group is being triggered. Please correct if I misunderstood your requirement. If that is the case, could you please go to Azure Monitor ->Alert Rules -> Alert Rule ->Manage Action group and see if you have actions configured in that action group.

In case if you have already configured the action group Notifications and Actions then could you please share the screenshots of the configuration by masking personal information like subscription info.
Also please confirm your azure data factory region and the activity for which you configured the alert condition, so that I'll try to reproduce the issue on my end similar to your data factory region.

This is incorrect. We have an Action Group with a single "Action" that triggers a Logic App. We have multiple alerts that use this Action Group and all seem to work correctly. However, a specific alert, related to a Data Factory instance, fails to trigger the Action Group, even though the alert "Configure signal logic" metrics suggest the alert has been triggered.

The Data Factory instance's region is West Europe.

Here is an example of an alert behaves as we expect when it is triggered:

Below is the Data Factory alert that doesn't seem to be triggering the Action Group. I've included the "Configure signal logic" graph in the screenshot where you can see that it appears to have triggered.

If there is any other information I can provide, please let me know.
