Hello Support,

i have several servers 2012, 2016 and 2019) that have downloaded latest January 2022 rollup updates and need to be restarted. one of them went to continuous reboot afterward. So I am afraid of rebooting the others. I know Microsoft has acknowledged the problem but not sure what is the solution? If I restart the server it may go to continuous boot.
Also what needs to be done for the servers that have installed the latest updates and have not problem?
I appreciate your help.
Jamshid

I'm still experiencing the reboot loop after installing KB5010790 and I'm stuck trying to resolve it. The server is Windows 2016 Standard. It's a VM on Hyper-V. It's a read-only domain controller.
Friday 1/14 the server installed KB5009546 during routine Windows Update. Upon reboot the server began boot-looping.
If we power off the server and remove the Virtual Switch then the server will boot and not boot-loop.
Tuesday 1/18 we installed KB5010790. That's supposed to solve the problem, but it does not.
We're still in the situation where the server boots, waits a minute, and reboots if the Virtual Switch is enabled. If I disable the Virtual Switch the server will boot and not boot loop.
When I go to Uninstall Updates I see KB5010790 installed but KB5009546 is no longer listed.
Now what do I do ?

So far it seems uninstalling the Jan 11th updates is the solution. Also note as mentioned by Elden; Anyone can call Microsoft support… whether they have a pre-paid support contract or not. And all cases closed as bugs are refunded.

Difficult for us to know for sure. You can check the health dashboard for the OS of concern for guidance.
