Using the new outlook, the spellcheck is not working. Additionally, there is no editor option anywhere, including the options menu. How do I employ the spellcheck function in new outlook?

SERIOUSLY! All these steps to turn on spellcheck. Something that should ALWAYS BE ON. Who thought it was good idea to turn it or not even be able to find on the ribbon. Really, really a dumb idea. But so typical. I will actually pay the outrageouse price of $179 to get standalone Outlook 2023 on my PC so I can dumb the "new and terrible" Outlook app. What a piece of garbage. And these steps do not turn on spell checking. More useless directions that don't work.

Why so complicated to use a common feature? Eh, Microsoft?

    Hi there.

I've tried everything you've explained here, but I'm really frustrated with this new outlook as nothing has helped. Neither the "Editor" nor the "Turn on optional connected experience".

I have German and English for the grammar and spelling checker, but it does not recognise any language at all.

Also, in the other Outlook, for example, when I had caps lock in and started to write and email something like "hELLO" it automatically changed to "Hello"... not even that works anymore... small, but very important things that make my life hard.

what should I do (its a company/business outlook in Windows 11)?

    thanks

    Mimoza

Hi - did you sort this out? I have the same problem. If I type a small 'i', it doesn't automatically change it to 'I'. None of my auto correct suggestions are working. Thanks

Nazman Nur, thank you for this reply, including the graphics. It allowed me to find the Editor so I could turn spell check back on.

As has been commented by others on this thread, it is absurd to have this feature buried like it is. I can only surmise that this is another part of the strategy to get users to use Co-Pilot instead of our own editorial resources (ie, our minds). While the irony is not lost on me that spell and grammar check are themselves a form of AI, there is a line to be drawn here.

I will be actively looking for another, probably open source, tool that does not have such a manipulative agenda baked into it.
