Antimalware Service Executable High Memory Usage

I updated my windows 10 a couple days ago and ever since, the Antimalware Service Executable task in the task manager is using up to 50-70% of my memory space. It stops me from being able to run video games as everything is quite laggy. I have searched previous forums and have tried solutions such as rescheduling windows defender scans and all do not work. I heard it may be because Windows Defender found a file that it sees as dangerous but cannot delete it itself but whenever I did a manual scan, it said nothing was wrong. I have Windows 10 Version: 1909 and would like help stopping it from eating my memory.

I fix my Windows Defender high RAM usage like this:

    1. Windows security > Virus and threat protection > Manage settings > Real-time protection > OFF
    2. Open Task manager and see memory return to normal, wait a moment
    3. Real-time protection > On
    4. Done

Can I get "Independent advisor" flair now ROFL

    Hi EP29,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

I know you you have already tried a lot to troubleshoot this issue. If you haven't done this yet, try to limit it's cpu usage and disable sample sampling. Those steps are shown on the last part of this article:

Let me know how it goes. Have a great day!

    Hi EP29,

Do you have a third party antivirus installed? Or you just use Windows Defender?
