PQservice is listed as a User Account in my SystemPropertiesProtection.exe program.  Who is this user and why is there no information on Microsoft concerning it?

Thanks,

David Marshall

    Hi,

Acer Computer? PQservice is the hidden partition which allows you to return the system back to out of

    the box state.

Check with Acer Support and their on-line documentation.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi David

This is not added by Windows, it's part of the Acer eRecovery program.

    Here is the information.

From the Acer website - "There is also a third, hidden partition called PQSERVICE. The PQSERVICE partition contains the files necessary for the Acer eRecovery to reinstall the operating system, setting the system back to the way it was the day you purchased it, create recovery media, or reinstall drivers and applications"

Thank you, Ronnie! Although I knew what the partition does, I did't know what it meant. There is usage that makes references to PHP and I thought it might be related although this last is a "recursive" acronym that refers to the PHP Home Page (which, I believe, is a form of HTML). Nonetheless, thanks for straightening me out too.
