I have windows 11 home version on my PC. Under Device encryption it says- Elevation required to view. What does that mean? Will I have to upgrade to Window 11 Pro to get device encryption?

    Hi Swati_89

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

There are two types of encryption in Windows, the first is Bitlocker, and that is not available in the Home edition, and the second is EFS encryption, this may be available only if your hardware supports it.

I need more information about your system,

    1

Click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter

Please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

    2

Download the tiny utility from the link below, then run that utility and please provide a screenshot of the result of tunning that scan

This means you need to open System Information as administrator, and if it says Meets prerequisites then, your system supports Device encryption. This feature is also available in Home edition (no need to upgrade to Pro edition for this).
