Hi,

I am having issue to see the Azure Synapse Serverless SQL Table schema that has been connected through Synapse in purview. I did verify the scan as well.

The view was built on Built in SQL pools in synapse. Can anyone please help or guide me through this issue at the earliest ?

Thank You
Javali

Hi all, I am facing the same issue at the moment. The Purview scanner finds the Views and External Tables of my Synapse Serverless database. For the Views I can see the schema, but the schema of the External Tables are empty. Even after scanning two more times.

Is there a certain checkbox that I have to select in order to scan the schema of the external tables?

Hi, I am experiencing also the same... or even worse..

I've been cracking my head to pass through what used to be a quite straightforward operation, I have several serverless databases on top of Synapse, and currently, I am trying to add a few of them to a catalog in Purview, however, even though this was a successful operation a couple of months ago, now Purview refuses to scan databases with a quite non-informative message: (Please note that it can enumerate the DBs without issue)

    I already have set:
    * Purview has Reader role on Synapse
    * Purview has Storage Blob Data Reader role on DLGen2 (underlying data resides here)
    * MSI access to the DB
    * Granted scoped credentials to the MSI in order to access external data

I also set an SQL User with scoped credentials on the same database, and tested it with SQL Studio, so that one works for sure.

The database I am trying to scan is a serverless SQL DB containing external tables that reside in a DLGen2.

Please advise,I am missing something or if is there an unreported issue in Brazil South region , please let me know.
    Many thanks,
    Raul

I solved this by scanning the underlaying datalake, then Purview will propagate the schema to the table.
