Delay types

I have been using Excel.Workbook, and one of the options after promote headers is 'delay type' .
I've always just closed it off as I don't know what this means, could someone please enlighten me.

    See Excel.Workbook() And The delayTypes Option In Power Query/Power BI from Chris Webb
    And be aware that Power Query is no longer supported on this site but on the Power BI community
