Hi! I have a few Hyper-V servers with SCVMM also running. For specific reasons i need to grant permissions to a whole team of people to connect to the hyper-v server (instead of SCVMM), with vmconnect tool.. and it seems imposible to achieve this. Hyper-V Server 2016.

Any ideas?

Thanks

    Hi,

--For specific reasons i need to grant permissions to a whole team of people to connect to the hyper-v server (instead of SCVMM), with vmconnect tool..

If you want to RDP to the Hyper V server, steps below:

    1. On the Hyper Server, open local users and Groups, add the account into "Administrators".
    2. On the remote settings, allow remote connection to this computer.

    1. On the management server, run MSTSC, in the Connection tab, enter the IP address of the remote Hyper V host.

    Greetings,

just sharing that if it can help someone...

I've installed windows server and i've some trouble with VMConnect as i wanted to use as standard user.

I've read some great tutorials, tried everything (add into RDS endpoint, WMI access group and Grant cmdlet) : nothing worked, even Hyper-V administrator group.

Then i read the "little" warning of group management tool : group settings are taken into account after a logout / login. Then it works perfectly for a simple user.

So do not forget to logout and login before concluding that the manipulation you did failed

    Best regards.
