HI,

I'm planing to upgrade my Lync 2013 enterprise to Skype for business 2019 enterprise.
Since mt Edge server inst in use at all, I would like to know what are the recommended steps for Decommissioning this edge server before I'm starting with the upgrade process.
this are the steps that i thins that I should perform:

  • Export the Topology (download the existing topology)
  • remove the Edge server from the topology
  • remove the edge pool
  • publish the topology
  • From the front-end server use management shell and run as administrator the following command : export-CsConfiguration -filename filename.zip
  • from the edge server use the Server Management Shell and run the following command: Import-CsConfiguration -LocalStore -FileName c:\filename.zip
  • Delete the DNS records from DNS server
  • run Lync deployment Wizard to remove the Edge server
  • Shut down the server

Am i right? am I missing something?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

    Hi YanivL,

As I know, you just need to delete the component of the legacy Edge server if you have transition from the federation route of your Legacy Edge servers to the federation route of your Skype for Business server 2019 Edge servers.
