SD card slot Read-only

Hi, my Windows 10 Acer Aspire 5336-2525 laptop only reads cards when I insert them into the MC slot. Is this laptops's hardware only supportive of reading from it, or can I get a driver to fix it? Note: the different SD cards that I tried were unlocked(slider on the side), and I tried formatting, but it said it was read only; also, if I went into properties there was no option in permissions to allow write access(non listed, only read etc.) Thanks in advance, Ryan

    Good night Ryan!

It seems like the slot is just read-only, right? This may happen probably because of taking a SD card out abruptly without safely removing it in Windows settings, but it's okay. Let's do some checks:

    1. Insert your SD card.
    2. Run CMD as administrator.
    3. Type "diskpart".
    4. Type "list disk".
    5. Type "select disk" and the number of the SD card in 'list disk'.
    6. Type "attributes disk clear readonly".

Let me know if it works. If it doesn't, I'll provide you another possible solution.

    Good luck, and best wishes.

    Miguel Ángel.
