Microsoft Teams Notification

We have a user who gets notified when another specific user gets online or offline.

I have looked and made sure that the user who is getting those notifications hasn't enabled "Notify when Available" option.

What I have done so far to fix this issue:

Deleted Teams cache

uninstalled and reinstall Teams

The issue persists and I would appreciate if someone could guide on where to start looking in troubleshooting this issue.

Have you tried turning on the user's "Notify when Available" option and then turn it off to see if there would be any difference? You can do this through the chat or via the notification settings. See the article below for more details:

Hi @Sophia ,

Have you had a chance to ask the user to check in Teams web client and see whether the issue persists?
And this is now only occurring when the specific user gets online or offline, right?

It's also recommended to try turning on and off the "Notify when Available" option for the particular user from Teams web client and see how it goes.

Yes, I did try your suggestion and performed the following as well:

Cleared Teams cache

Deleted/uninstalled Teams from the user's machine.

Re-installed it.

The issue unfortunately is still persists.

I did try your suggestion and performed the following as well

So you meant you've also checked it via Teams web client as we discussed earlier but the issue persists, right?

As based on our test, when the "Notify when Available" setting is configured in Teams desktop client, it will automatically synced to Teams on the web browser, so it seems that the setting is stored backend in the server side rather than in a local file. Given this situation, personally I'd recommend trying to contact Microsoft 365 support in the admin portal as well and see if they can help investigate further from the backend:
