Excel Solver running issue

Hi recently I have created a document with embedded formulas, which internally use vba script and uses solver operation of Excel. Observed a peculiar behavior that, solver pop up appears while running, and pauses the operation if Excel window is not active, (i.e if we start the solver operation and if we shift to another application, solver seems to pause until the excel window is activated back.) Can this scenario be avoided?
Even if we shift to some other application, the excel solver operation should continue its work parallelly. Is this scenario observed earlier. The overall execution time also varies due to this behavior.
