When can we expect the ability to change billing country?

Many users in this global world need to change their billing country. The inability to do so without the friction of closing the account, opening another, and migrating to it is so disturbing that many users are finding alternatives to MS services. Further, this bug in MS systems creates a situation where users end up paying taxes to countries where they are not resident and have no reason to pay tax there. When can we expect Microsoft to allow us to change billing country?

    Hi @IronEagleEesti ,

I understand that you would like an ETA on the ability to change the billing country in Azure.

    Update your country/region

Because of technical constraints, changing the country or region for an existing account isn't supported and we do not have an ETA yet for this feature. However, you can create a new account in a different country or region and then contact Azure support to transfer your subscription to the new account.

Your opinion matters to us and we take feedback seriously as customer satisfaction remains our priority. We will appreciate if you could take out some time to create or vote for any feature or service you will like to see via feedback, as it goes directly to the Engineering team responsible for building Azure. I will happily help surface any feedback that you share.

Hey, I managed to do it eventually, but I had to get rid of all subscriptions first (you can transfer them to another owner).

When I had no subscription I removed my default tenant in Microsoft Entra ID. I signed out from the portal and registered once again to Azure. This time I used a correct country.

at this point you can either transfer your subscriptions back to the new account or just start with a brand new one.
