Verification code does not work to redeem voucher

I have a google email account used to register for the free 2 day virtual Azure course and managed to create a profile using Microsoft outlook. seems like the account is having issues linking and redeeming the voucher. i receive an email to my gmail account with verification code and when entering into my microsoft account the following error displays: Error AAL01: Could not complete account linking operation
