Why is my bank account charged for a cancelled subscription?

Hi

I need assistance regarding my recent billing statement. I received an invoice a few days ago indicating that I have been charged for a subscription which I had cancelled.

To be specific, I was charged ZAR514.26 for the period 02 January 2022 - 01 February 2022 despite having cancelled my subscription earlier the previous month on 06 January 2022. Now, given that my subscription was on Pay-As-You-Go pricing and the fact that I did not consume any resources for the said period, I am quite confused regarding the total charges. Of course, it makes sense that there should be some kind of charge for the 6 day period before I cancelled the subscription (between 01 Feb and 06 Feb 2022), however, I'm failing to understand why this amount is exactly the same (i.e. ZAR514.26) as what I was charged for the first month (i.e. 12 December 2021 to 02 January 2022)??

I already tried to raise a support request in the Azure portal under Billing but the recommended solution was that I reactivate the subscription, which is not viable for me since I currently do not need to use it and if anything, might just lead to more unexpected charges.

Could someone advise on how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Theodore Gaelejwe ,

it looks like the ZAR 514.26 are charged for the Azure Developer Support. At least that's the price for this support plan and would also explain why it's the same price every month:
