How to backup app services

I have several App Services in Azure in the North Central US region. When setting up backups for these I see two options. 1.) Create a storage account in the same North Central US region with GRS replication. 2.) Create a storage account with LRS replication in a different region such as the Central US.

Which option is the correct way to go for backing up App Services?

    Hi @Monarch

For safer side and protect your app services and its backup Its recommended to choose the same region with GRS replication, You have to be more informed about the weather information where your data centre located if you opted the LRS replication in either region or zone is very serious problem to your data backup data if any natural calamities occurred.

Thanks for asking question! To elaborate on above the data in your Azure storage account is always replicated to ensure durability and high availability. Azure Backup uses Blob storage for storing your backups and gives you flexibility to choose between locally redundant storage (LRS) or geo-redundant storage (GRS) for your backups You may choose a replication strategy that matches your durability requirements.
Also Note that some settings can't be changed after the storage account is created.

For more details you may refer to Azure Storage redundancy

Thank you for the information. I have decided to go with GRS.
