Visual studio account license issue

Question

Hi,

I have bought a VS professional standalone and redeemed it. Now my visual studio account can't find anything else than a trial license.

But the order is visible on my microsoft account. I suspect that VS is checking on visualstudio.com for license and that the license is linked to microsoft.com.

Why can't VS use this standalone license ?
Do i really need a subscription ?
Is visual studio and microsoft account two separate things ?
What am i missing ?

First of all, I recommend you ask here: Sales, Subscriptions, Account & Billing for the related questions about your Visual Studio account.

Why can’t VS use this standalone license?

Since Subscription and Standalone license are different, probably you need to activate VS by using Product Keys(Perhaps you need to call to Microsoft Store Support).

Do I really need a subscription?

No, I think. Both Standalone and Subscription license should work.

Is Visual Studio and Microsoft account two separate things?

Not exactly, as you can choose a Microsoft account or a work or school account to sign in corresponding version of Visual Studio.
