Best way to migrate SUP in SCCM CB 2010

Hey all,

I have this environment:

  • SCCM standalone Primary Site
  • No Secondary Sites
  • Only DP on each locations (near to 30)
  • My SUP is a remote server, with WSUS (I have only on SUP)

Now I need to migrate this SUP to another server.

What is the best and easy way to do that?

I planned this:

  1. Install new server
  2. Install WSUS on this new server
  3. Remove my current SUP
  4. Wait some time to SCCM understand there is no SUP
    ...
  5. Then, install SUP again, but pointing to the new server

I am on the right way?

    Hi, @Patrick Mor

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

You may keep two SUP at the same time, then you can right click the device collection and select Client Notification, and then click Switch to next Software Update Point.
Then you can remove the first SUP if need.

    Hi, guys,

Nice to have two SUP at same time, but I can have two SUP without one be upstream and another be downstream?

I mean, my concern is, when I have the second SUP, can I remove the first one with no problem/issue?

    Regards,

    Hi, @Patrick Mor

    Yes, you can.
When choose the sunchronization source, choose the "Synchronize from Microsoft Update" instead of sync from an upstream data source.

    I still need help.

I added a new SUP, but during the wizard I had no option to define Upstream setting.
