The Microsoft Edge Insider Promotion Enabled GPO found in Version 98 of Microsoft Edge does not appear to be working to suppress the Insider Promotion section in the "About Microsoft Edge" settings page. The GPO sets the following Registry value ( REG_DWORD ) to 0x00000000 as expected but even a browser or operating system restart does not suppress the Insider Promotion section. No mention of a Domain association or MDM membership is required in the GPO description. Both a Windows 10 Pro X86 Feature 21H2 and a VDI session (Domain membered) Windows 10 Enterprise X64 Feature 21H2 systems were tested with the same results.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
Registry value ( REG_DWORD ) MicrosoftEdgeInsiderPromotionEnabled 0x00000000

This is very easy to test. You can use gpedit if the ADMX/ADML files are already loaded into C:\Windows\PolicyDefintions OR one could add the Registry Key above with the value specified.
Although our user community would likely NOT view the About Microsoft Edge settings page, we prefer to suppress the Insider Promotion before deployment of this Version 98 of Microsoft Edge.

This posting at the encouraging of Paul R. ( par_0511 ) in the other "answers" forum more relegated to home/consumer issues. Thanks, Paul!

    Hi @ChevITGuy ,

According to your description, I also did some simple tests with this strategy and it really doesn't work. Neither modifying Group Policy nor modifying the registry can hide the Insider Promotion section of the About page.

In this case, I recommand that you could report this issue to related team, just press Alt + Shift + i in Edge and edit this issue to send feedback. I think this will help to refine and improve Edge.

    Best regards,
    Xudong Peng
