GetThumbnailAsync - Error trying to create image thumbnail inside OneDrive folder | UWP

I am trying to use GetThumbnailAsync in One Drive folder, but doesn't works using UWP with C#.
Is a UWP bug? I found this post saying which is a bug http://hongincanada.com/blog/2021/02/54-uwp-wtf-moment-number-4/

When you are trying to get the Thumbnail of a file inside the OneDrive, have you checked if the file is already downloaded into your local device? If the file hasn't been downloaded, you could only see files information but you can't get the Thumbnail of the file because it doesn't exist on the local device.

This image is in local directory. I can be able send it to other person by my app, but the thumbnail isn't create.

Could you please share the error message that you meet when failed to create the image thumbnail? Will this behavior happen when the same image is located in another local folder, not inside the OneDrive folder?

Reproduction steps:

Put an image in the One Drive folder;

Send the image and use "await storageFile.GetThumbnailAsync(ThumbnailMode.SingleItem, Constants.THUMB_SIZE, ThumbnailOptions.ResizeThumbnail);"

At the first attempt the thumbnail doesn't: ContentType image/bmp

At the second attemp using the same image works well: ContentType image/jpeg

No error in both attemps, only different ContentType.

Could you please share the complete code snippet that you are using with me? So I could try to follow your step to reproduce this behavior.

Unfortunately, I can't. But I think this is a UWP bug, because it doesn't work the first time, but works the second time.

It's hard to confirm which causes this behavior if we can't reproduce this. But the behavior you mentioned is very similar to what I mentioned in my first comment.
