User computer Redirection folders did not change to point to the correct server.

Question

Had got into the Group policy of a new server and directed the folder redirection to the new server. Find one user Windows 10 computer is still pointed to the old server. What could cause the one user computer to continues to point to the old server when the other computers are pointing to new server.

This is an issue related to the Update process in the registry policies where GPOs are stored in the computers.

Basically, the system can fail to update the registry information re-writing the Folder Redirection details.

The recommendation in this case is:

• Set up the policy as Not Defined (this should clear the registry setting)
• Force or wait for replication of new GPO (usually 24hr)
• Set again the Folder Redirection policy with the new target location

To confirm every of the actions and result, you can run GPUPDATE /H OUTPUT.HTML on the client computer so see the GPOs applied.
