I have a security company auditing my Windows 2012R2 Standard Edition Servers. They are advising me that the file "Cmipnpinstall.dll" is not updated. The current version running on the server is 6.3.9600.16384. I checked and that is indeed the file installed. Stack Update KB4566425 states that this file is to be updated to version 6.3.9600.19750. I would uninstall and then reinstall the update but the update cannot be uninstalled. I ran an SFC /ScanNow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and they came up clean. I have a number of servers with the same issue. Can anyone please clarify this for me. Thank you!

Its likely that the role or feature or process that uses it has not yet been installed.

Thanks for your reply. It would be helpful to know what feature of process that may be though. I am still stuck without knowing how to proceed.

I checked the server and Cmicryptinstall.dll does not exist on it. I saw this article explaining it https://wikidll.com/microsoft/cmicryptinstall-dll but there is nothing more about how to install or uninstall it. Also i went through the Add Roles and Features of the Server Manager and I was not able to find anything like that as an available installation. Google doesn't return much either. Thanks but I'm still stuck.

At 500 bucks a shot, I will hold off on calling MS. Fortunately one of these servers is a VM that I can make a copy of and break if need be.
