    Hi

The Address Book in Windows XP was called user name.wab. This was used in the default Outlook Express email program. You can copy/move that .wab file to the Windows 7 system.

In Windows 7, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the  C:\Users\your name\Contacts folder.

On the Toolbar, click the Import button.

In the Import dialog, select the Windows Address Book (Outlook Express contacts)  option.

Click the Import button and navigate to where you saved the .WAB file.

Select that file and click Open.

This will place all of the email addresses into the Contacts folder. This folder will be used for any email programs that you install.

    Regards

Click on Start and then your Account name at the top R/H of the box that appears. You will see a Contacts folder there.

Be aware - Windows 7 does NOT come with any email client AT ALL. You have to choose and download and install one of your choice.

What were you using on XP for email/contacts?

This folder will be used for any email programs that you install.

    Except Outlook and Thunderbird...

This is NOT the address book I'm looking for.  I want the one that I can keep on my desktop for all friends and family whether or not they have an email address!  How can I get one?

    Thanks, Joyce

I had my personal address book with names, addresses, etc..in a Word Document in XP...now all of a sudden when I tried to access it (while Google Earth was open) that Word document is now a WAB file...how do I convert a WAB file to a Microsoft Word document?  This has nothing to do with my contacts in my email program.
