Copy data from Microsoft Graph Data Connect/Office 365 BasicDataSet_v0.MailboxSettings_v0 into Azure using Azure Data Factory results in "InternalServerError" when pipeline location is outside US

My organization/tenant region is in India. I am trying to use Microsoft Graph Data Connect, following the steps here: Microsoft - Getting started with Microsoft Graph Data Connect

  1. I initially had my ADF Data Factory/Pipeline in West US. - So, upon triggering the ADF pipeline, I got the error - "PermanentError. The extraction failed because the region in which the user data resides is different from the region this pipeline is running".

  2. So then I moved my ADF Data Factory/Pipeline region to India. However, while adding the source, when I test connection of the linked service, I am getting error:

    Office365 data loading failed to get OAuth token. Operation returned an invalid status code 'InternalServerError'. Error code: 10222

I have double checked that my Service principal ID as well as Service principal key is correct. This issue is coming only when the data factory/pipeline region is not US.

Any pointers on what the issue is here? The error message is not very useful and I'm basically stuck! Any help appreciated!

Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A!!
As per your problem description it looks like you are having issues while importing Office 365 data using ADF and Microsoft Graph Data Connect.

Could you please verify the following prerequisites were implemented?
1. A group is created that will allow to approve requests from MS Graph data connect.
2. MS Graph data connect is enabled in Office admin center at the tenant level and assigned above mentioned approvals group.
3. Data Factory and App registration are under same tenant?
