Granting permissions to Azure AD users for local network share

Hello,

I currently have a local network share setup on one of my network's computers sharing a drive connected to it - the computer is Azure AD connected but I can only grant permissions on it for local computer users. Is it possible to grant permissions for Azure AD accounts and allow users to authenticate using their Azure AD account?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance! Apologies if this is a stupid question :).

    Hi @Anonymous

Thank you for asking this question on the **Microsoft Q&A Platform. **

Unfortunately, there is no direct way to achieve your goal.

You must install and configure an Azure AD Connect

After that, you must join your VM in Azure to the Domain Controller.

And finally set a user from your domain controller.

    Hope this helps,

You can set up a local group on the sharing computer and grant it permissions: azure - How to give file permissions to AzureAD user on windows 10? - Super User
