Subscriptions/Alerts for specific computers and specific monitors

Does anyone know how I can target specific monitors for some computers to be sent to a separate channel?

For example, I have some "Synthetic Transaction" (TCP Port Checks state) monitors to watch some service ports. These already send email from a critical alert subscription I have set up, but I want to create another subscription to send these alerts elsewhere.

I'm having a hard time finding out what Scope or Criteria I need to target these alerts in my subscription setup. My original subscription was easy to setup, because I kept it very broad with all "Critical" alerts.

The other alerts I want to target are alerts from the Failover Cluster (Hyper-V) when a virtual machine goes offline or gets restarted. The alert shows something like: A Cluster resource group is offline or partially offline.

I want to know how can I reference these alerts when I setup another subscription.

I managed to figure out how to send alerts on a heartbeat failure for specific computers, but that took a lot of trial and error.

    Hi @Mars ,

assuming that you have SCOM 2019 you need to consider a couple of things:

What gets send where is controller by the subscription as you know, so if you want to send some of the alerts (from specific rules or monitors) over another channel, you have to create the channel itself in advance and then configure the subscription criteria. In my opinion this article gives you a nice overview of all the options and possibilities:

    How to create notification subscriptions
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/system-center/scom/manage-notifications-create-subscriptions?view=sc-om-2019

You can control also what gets send, using the alert name, like depicted by Leon here:

    SCOM - Alert Basics
    https://www.cookdown.com/blog/scom-alert-basics

You can always open a rule or the monitor check its targeted class and configure the class in the subscription. that would also help you filter and pick only the alerts that you need.
