Yes I use mp3 Tag. Remove tag then Undo. This will delete the tag specially the ID3v2 tag and replace it with a new tag with maybe a lower version I think. And you can now view the metadata in Explorer.
Windows 10 October Update - FLAC metadata cut off
Hi,
I have recently updated my computer to the October Update. However, I have noticed that after ripping some of my discs to FLAC, some of the metadata gets cut off (e.g. "American Beauty/American Psycho" gets cut off as "American Beauty/American P" instead). This did not happen while I had the April 2018 update, and editing the metadata does not work as it only cuts the metadata again.
Shown below are two albums I ripped into FLAC that have the issue. I hope the issue gets fixed soon.
Thanks.
System specs:
Intel Core i5-7500
16GB RAM
240GB SSD + 3TB WD Red + 2TB WD Blue
SATA Optical drive
Windows 10 Pro October Update

2019-03-22T17:14:04+00:00 Hello,
I need to add my voice to this. The display of FLAC metadata is indeed being truncated. I refer to File Explorer. I just ripped my first CD to FLAC since the installation of Version 1809, OS Build 17763.379. When I went to look at the files in File Explorer the data were truncated. I verified that the metadata was intact in each file using a binary editor and the excellent Mp3Tag program.
You have a bug Microsoft!!! When will you learn the old programming maxim that "If it worked before you installed your code, and not after, then your code broke it---somewhere."
I think you need to prioritize this bug.
Thank you very much.

2019-05-27T20:29:46+00:00 There remains a problem in recognizing certain tag types (e.g. ID3v2), even when those tags are created and/or updated Mp3Tag.
Perhaps the re-tagging is actually changing the tag type to a different and/or older tag type? Support for ID3v2 really should not be an issue, because that tag type used to work in Windows 10, prior to 1809.

2018-11-05T04:42:26+00:00 Hi,
It has been more than 10 days since I have updated to 1809, so the Windows.old folder is not available any longer.
I have used Exact Audio Copy to extract the audio files from the Audio CDs that I own. I have copied the files to a thumbdrive and stuck it in another PC running 1903 and the metadata was correct.

2018-11-05T04:17:13+00:00 Hi Lumia. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.
You can roll back Version 1809 in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then hide it until it matures using the Hide Updates Tool downloaded from here: https://www.howtogeek.com/224471/how-to-prevent...
What app do you use to compress FLAC? I would Reset it in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > App name > Advanced Settings.
If necessary uninstall the app and reinstall from a fresh download. Check the app Support if there is a known issue with patch issued or expected.
If you want to report this to Microsoft use the Feedback Hub app in Start Menu where developers are tasked to process consumer feedback. They will not even see it here. This is a tech forums staffed mostly by volunteers trying to help others with your problems.
If you want to post back a Share link from your Feedback here others who see this thread can vote it up and add to it. I will also track the issue for you.
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
