Not able to add guest users to Teams Channel.

Hello Teams Community,

Please i need your help on this.

My user John is not able to add guest user Michael to his Teams channel.

Getting following error while trying to add this guest user.

Can you please look into it.

The Error message is: “We didn’t find any matches. Talk to your IT Admin about expanding the scope of your search.”

    Until shared channels are released you need to add them to the team. If it's a private channel they still need to be added to the team first.

    To add guests to a team your tenant need to allow adding guest users. I recommend checking with your administrator what rights you have.

    Did you type the full email address to see if it can be reproduced?

    In this case, it recommends you try to turn on the scoped directory search by following these steps and wait up to 24~48 hours for your changes to take effect.

    1. In the Microsoft Teams admin center, select Teams > Teams settings.
    2. Under Search by name, next to Scope directory search in Teams using an Exchange address book policy, turn the toggle On.
    3. Scoped directory search in Microsoft Teams admin center.
