Removing old mapped SharePoint Teams drives
Hello,
our organization has created a new Team in Teams. Now there is a dire need of accessing documents upper in the hierarchy of the folder, previously the need was limited to under a folder (lets say "Development") in Teams. Now it is required in a folder where the "development" is a subfolder, how should the old mapping be changed to the newer one?
EDIT: To make things clearer, our computers have mapped the SharePoint-files through Endpoint Manager (prev. Intune) configuration policies.
Thanks!
BR,
Mauri

2022-03-31T06:14:26.057+00:00 Teams tag is mainly focused on the general issue of Microsoft Teams troubleshooting. According to your description, your question is not in our support scope. So I will remove teams tag from your thread. Thanks for your understanding and patience!

2022-03-31T07:27:17.77+00:00 @Mauri Koiranen , Thanks for posting in our Q&A. From your description, it seems we have configure an Intune Device Configuration policy which mapped sharepoint files. And now we want to replace the file.
Before going on, could you get a screen shot of the device configuration profile to know it better?
Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

2022-04-08T01:43:26.117+00:00 @Mauri Koiranen , Thanks for the reply. For the setting, it let us specify SharePoint team site libraries to sync automatically the next time users sign in to the OneDrive sync app. If we remove the old library and then add the new one, sync on device side to get the new policy. Will it work?

2022-04-20T14:58:01.633+00:00 Hello, sorry for the delayed reply. Do you happen to mean any of these configuration settings?
Also could you specify how the old library is removed? Preferably the centrally managed solution would be best. Since our organization has around 30 users, doing this manually would cause a lot of work.

2022-04-21T02:13:05.853+00:00 @Mauri Koiranen , Thanks for the reply. I mean we can remove the library we configured under setting "Configure team site libraries to sync automatically" and add the new library, restart the device and sync again, will it get the new library?

2022-04-26T13:10:59.913+00:00 @Crystal-MSFT , thanks for your tips.
I did the things you suggested:
- Make the computer map the new directory
- Removed the old directory from the mapping
- Synced the computer and rebooted it couple times.
Now there are two mapped drives, old and the new. The old one is not active and is not synced anymore, but still present.
What would be the way to remove it from the computer? -

2022-04-27T05:44:17.437+00:00 @Mauri Koiranen ,Thanks for the response. for the method we tried, it seems the old mapped driver is still there. Here we suggest to try the Powershell command on the device side to see if it can be removed
https://www.tutorialspoint.com/how-to-remove-the-mapped-network-drive-using-powershell
Note: Non-microsoft link, just for the reference.Meanwhile, we suggest to try to set the "Configure team site libraries to sync automatically" to disabled to see if the old one will be removed.
If there's any update, feel free to let us know.

2022-05-03T12:44:30.647+00:00 Hello, I tried the "net use" command (as admin also) but none of the mapped SharePoint drives were present there in the listing.
I will have to try the "Configure team site libraries to sync automatically" next. -

2022-05-04T02:42:15.483+00:00 @Mauri Koiranen , Thanks for for the reply. If we run the command on the logging user account. Can we see the SharePoint drive? And for the other test, we will wait for your update.

2024-01-24T19:41:26.6333333+00:00 Wrestling with getting rid of the old mapped Sharepoint drives as well. They don't seem to sync often enough and we start get versioning issues. Anybody figure out an answer? Thanks!
