SPMT - Ignore hidden folders

Hi all,

I have been using SPMT to migrate file shares to OneDrive, but for some reason the tool insists on looking through the hidden folders of all the shares, ending up in some very heavy migration reports, where every hidden folder item is logged as a migration failure, which leads to a very daunting task of looking through it all, just to make sure there are no actual errors hidden in all the noise, since I don't care about errors created by hidden folders.

I know about the toggle for hidden folders within SPMT, but even with that set to an off state, SMPT still go through it.

I would like to avoid that, but it seems the feature just doesn't work?

Any ideas?

    Hi @MBL
Per my research, there are no official articles to describe how to ignore the failure caused by hidden folders. As a workaround, as the migration report file extension is csv (SummaryReport.csv and FailureSummary.csv), we could use the filter feature in csv by the "Message" and "Error code" column, which include failed reason detail description and failed reason errorcode.

For more information about Failure Summary Report, you could refer to:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/using-the-sharepoint-migration-tool-reports#failure-summary-report

    Hi @Yi Lu_MSFT ,

Thank you for looking into it.

So I recon it is what I expected, but always nice to hear others have the same experience.
