OneDrive questions

Question

Hi all. We have Office 365 Home subscription using 4 computers. I found out that the subscription includes the use of OneDrive. I am new to this and have some questions.

I am watching different related videos to get a better grasp of how OneDrive can help us. We have two file types: Private, which we don't want them to be off premises, and Normal, which are files that are OK to go off premises. Each computer has different types of files.

For the normal files, can each each computer sync with a specific folder on OneDrive?

Can the private files be excluded from syncing with OneDrive?

And, finally, can a special shared folder be designated so that all computers can access specific files?

From the information that I've seen/read, the third is easily accomplished, but I also don't want everything that is synced to be shared.

You have to change select which folders can be synced to your computer.

As TKujala suggested, to achieve these 2 needs, you need to choose which OneDrive folders to sync on 4 computers. So, you can put private files into specific folders, and do not snyc them.

But please note, If you uncheck a folder you are syncing to your computer, the folder will be removed from your computer. The folder and its contents will still be available online.
In the above case, If you need to untick the folders of private files, please remember to move these files out of your local OneDrive folder first., this action can avoid that the private files need to be downloaded from the cloud to the local after canceling the synchronization.

I would suggest one people share a folder to other people. Then let those other people add and sync shared folders.
